About Growing In Grace
Growing in Grace is an extension of the ministry of San Gabriel Community Church whose mission is “to make known the glory of God to all peoples through the gospel of Jesus Christ in the power of the Holy Spirit.”
Growing in Grace is committed to this mission by preaching the Bible with clarity and conviction because we believe the Bible is the living Word of God intended to speak truth to every generation.
PROCLAIMING THE GOSPEL
We believe the Gospel is the truth that God created men and women in His image to live in fellowship with Him. This relationship was fractured when man rejected God and chose sin. But God, who is rich in mercy and full of grace, provided a way to mend this broken relationship. God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to die on a cross and bear the consequences of our sin. “For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.” (2 Corinthians 5:21) If we put our faith and trust in the provision God has made through His Son, our relationship is restored with the Father and we receive the gift of eternal life.
STRENGTHENING BELIEVERS
It is our prayer that people will grow in their understanding of God’s grace found only in Christ and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior. It is our desire to come alongside believers and encourage them in their walk with the Lord and help them become more conformed to the image of the Son.
BUILDING THE CHURCH
God has established his church and promised that nothing will prevail against it. We believe strongly that one of the primary means God grants the believer for their growth is the local church. About Steve
Steve has been in pastoral ministry in the San Gabriel Valley since 1993 and on staff at San Gabriel Community Church since 1996. Since 2002 he has served as the Senior Pastor after overseeing Student Ministries for six years. The son of a pastor, he was born and raised in California, with most of his growing up years being spent on the Central Coast. He moved back to Southern California to attend college where he met his wife Christy. They have been living and ministering in the San Gabriel Valley since.
Steve has a B.A. in Biblical Exposition and an M.Div in Pastoral Ministries from The Master’s University and Seminary. In his free time, he loves to be with his wife and two kids, read, play golf, maintain a saltwater aquarium, roast coffee, and spend time with friends at coffee shops all over Southern California..
